Honeysuckle glory

from $39.00

I didn’t know if I could paint this image, with its interweaving petals. I saw it first as a black and white image in an old book. I enlarged it and followed the lines as best I could, and it gradually took shape! I first discovered the beauty of honeysuckle in England, where it draped itself along the fence between my house and The Shoulder of Mutton pub in Mytholmroyd. It was so striking with its multicoloured flowers, and I have since discovered s similar one in our Epsom, NZ neighbourhood, just growing and being beautiful ;-)
