I’m so pleased with the movement in this beautiful image, named after my sister Vivienne (meaning ‘lively’ and ‘full of life’, which kind of works with the movement here). Love it!

Softly shining and rather stunning, this flowing floral image is named after my older sister, though with a French twist. She is a magical gardener, so it is only apt that she has a floral image in her honour.

For Maria, my Swedish friend. We met when our youngest children were quite young, and we enjoyed attending a ‘Babes and Biscuits’ group together. Since then, she and her family have become very important in our lives. We’ve met up in New Zealand, France, Sweden and Corsica. Time for another trip?

She is kind, loving and raises chickens. The eggs have ‘Jo’s eggs’ stamped on them. They are the best, most delicious eggs EVER.

I have known Rachel since I was born. She’s my cousin. She used to team up with my younger sister on our family holidays. She and her husband are just the best - loving, supportive, genuinely themselves, and most importantly, excellent with a whisk and a mixing bowl. Rachel lights up my life.

This reflects ‘ma famille’, both in New Zealand and France, UK, Canada, Australia, Norway, etc. I hope that anyone who has been part of our family can see a connection to us/with us in this image. My family forms the basis of my friendships and my sense of self, and these connections circle around the world like a big hug (at the risk of sounding twee!).

Mes enfants précieux - my precious children. We have three. They have embiggened (thanks to The Simpsons for this word) our lives more than we can say. We are better people for them. X X X

This beautiful image is for two people - my friend Nicky and my son’s partner Nicole. I split the difference and called the painting Nicola. I love it for it’s soft colours and innate strength, plus their sweetness and courage - which they both have in bucket loads! I wonder if I’ll meet another Nicola/Nicky/Nicole one day to complete the threesome?

This phrase usually refers to grown up children who have all left home. Though we’re not at that stage yet, and are in no hurry to wave them goodbye, we know that their lives will fly in their own direction. In the meantime, we treasure our interactions and the loving home and kinship that we have together.
