My first exhibition!!
I’m so thrilled to share this with you!
My Sara Meade Design hand embroidered Aotearoa-themed felt ornaments and watercolour sketches are currently part of the ‘Spring to Summer’ exhibition at the Auckland Botanic Gardens! It’s running until 2 November, and there’s an amazing range of botanical art on display.
I’ll be sitting at the visitor’s desk at the exhibition in the morning of Saturday 25 October. Do come and see me ;-)
I’ve included three entries: felt kākābeak flowers embroidered onto felt pears; felt kōwhai flowers embroidered onto felt oval shapes, plus felt strawberries, leaves and flowers embroidered onto felt strawberries! I’m so proud of these designs and I loved creating them.
All felt work is for sale (except for one strawberry), with 10% going to the Friends of the Botanic Gardens Art Group. You can also commission these designs from me, plus many more amazing projects.
Visit my website, where you can purchase watercolour images, calendars, greeting cards, etc. DIY craft kits of pōhutukawa hearts and Xmas trees are almost ready for sale. Anyone creative would love these. Go wild and do your Christmas shopping!
In addition, the Botanic Gardens is an amazing place to visit, and Café Miko is a treat, with lots of delicious food and drinks, and indoor and outdoor seating.
Enjoy!!
On display at the ‘Spring to Summer’ exhibition, Auckland Botanic Gardens 11 Oct-2 Nov 2025. Sara Meade Design: felt kākābeak flowers embroidered onto felt pears; felt strawberries, leaves and flowers embroidered onto felt strawberries; and felt kōwhai flowers embroidered onto felt oval shapes.
See you there!
Best wishes, Sara
P.S. Do you have ideas for other decorations? I’d love to focus on native flowers from Aotearoa. Which is your favourite? Add a comment below.
